Tank "Tampon-Nosed" Hollon

"Tank" Hollon, cut his nose while he was working in the truck with his owner. Blood started gushing out and his owners took him to the nearest veterinary clinic for emergency care. after initial treatment, "tank" was referred to all creatures for further stabilization and treatment.

our team performed initial evaluation and stabilization, before admitting him into surgery at 7:30p.m. on Thursday. "tank's" laceration on his nose was sutured up, but due to the extent of his blood loss, his blood pressure remained slightly low and had to be treated with volume expander. about 30 minutes after surgery ended, "tank" was taken home on a stretcher, recovered from anesthesia but still too groggy to walk due to mild sedation.

In order to avoid any violent sneezing from tearing the sutures, the surgeon decided to place a tampon in his nasal passage to help control bleeding. "tank's" recovery was expected to be uneventful. the only complication the surgeon feared was pneumonia secondary to the amount of blood aspirated during the incidence.
