Spring Fling with Scotty Anderson
Dr Dan and the stray dogs have been performing with
Scotty off and on for about 5 years. Dr Dan's other interest, besides
animals, is music and especially guitar. On Dr Dan's Birthday 6 years
ago, he heard Scotty Anderson play for the first time and his jaw
dropped.
Never did he ever dream that he would share the stage with Scotty over
100 times in the last 5 or so years. Scotty has become Dr Dan's guitar
mentor. Scotty is simply the best guitarist Dr. Dan has ever
heard or been around. He does things with the guitar no one else can
or ever will do as well as he does. Scotty has traveled the world
playing guitar and is well known by musicians all over the world.
While backstage meeting Leann Rimes a few years ago at the
North American Veterinary Conference, Dr Dan introduced himself to the three
guitarists from Nashville that backed up Leanne on the tour. All three
of them were amazed that he had actually not only met but been on stage
with Scotty Anderson. On occasion, we have people drive 2-3 hours to
hear
Scotty at our gigs with the Stray Dogs. Scotty is tied to no one
group and loves backing up Dr. Dan and the Stray Dogs. Since music is
so second nature to him , Scotty doesn't tie himself
down by playing with only one group. He plays all styles of music, but
has a distinct style that is only his own with picking at lightening
speeds and playing multiple harmonies and melodies at the same time. His style is unrehearsed, spontaneous, and always perfect for the tune,
whatever style of music. Scotty's knowledge of music is deep
routed from his early days growing up first in the hills of Kentucky,
picking with uncle and dad,
and then in his teens living in our neck of the woods in Amelia for a
short time. Scotty can hear a song and immediately play it better than
the original guitarist and add flavor with a style all his own. Scotty
has not only been a friend and a guitar mentor, but a client of All Creatures with his 2
or three cats that share his basement with his collectible guitars and
amps.
Make sure you plan to attend the first All Creatures Spring Fling
Jamboree on Saturday March 27th, at 8 pm. We will be hosting the event
inside our 5000 square foot training room on our second floor - so
there should be plenty of room and great seats. Tickets are $10 and
all proceeds go to benefit our Friend of Noah's adoption program. Call
797-7387 for tickets, as well tickets will be available at the door.
Light refreshments will be available with admission.
